There was a lot going on in eSports last week so we're going to try and break just some of it down for you.
Following only a week after Atlanta, the Call of Duty World League partnered up with ESWC to bring CWL Paris. The open tournament had a prize pool of $100,000 and brought many North American teams over to Europe to compete. In Paris, they played in the finals against FaZe Clan to take another 3-0 victory. OpTic Gaming took a loss the weekend before to eUnited to place 2nd at Atlanta.
The next two CWL tournaments will take place in March. CWL Sydney Open I will start on 3/2 and end on 3/5. Then CWL will head back to North America for CWL Dallas from 3/17 to 3/19. Be sure to watch and see if OpTic will take home another trophy.
DreamHack Masters Las Vegas
The Counter-Strike scene headed to Las Vegas this past weekend for the $450,000 prize pool tournament by DreamHack. In first place, Virtus.Pro took home $200,000 after an intense match-up against SK Gaming, who took home $100,000.
The tournament wasn't all fun and games though. The community voiced their concerns over the shockingly small crowds at the event which should have held thousands of fans.
Finally, we're going to take a look at League of Legends Challenger Series. Fnatic Academy played FC Shalke 04, Millennium battled Team Kinguin, and Paris Saint-Germain took on Misfits Academy to put an end to Week 3. Take a look at the final scores:
(1-0-2) Fnatic Academy 0-2 FC Schalke 04 (3-0-0)
(1-1-1) Millenium 1-1 Team Kinguin (1-1-1)
(0-1-2) Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Misfits Academy (1-1-1)
